Just took a wee lunch time saunter to Waitrose.
Not overly inspiring the following are on offer
Bunna 12 - £30 (£36)
Jura Origional - £26 (£31)
Clynelish 14 - £29 (£35)
Benromach 10 - £29 (£34)
Dalmore 15 - £44 (£52)
Other questions came to mind... When did Ardbeg 10 become £47 a bottle and thus directly pitch it's self price wise against Laga 16 (£48.50)?
I am a fan of the Ardbeg 10, but please to suggest it can be worth in the same region of the Laga 16 is laughable at best.
Also when did the A'bundah become £42 a bottle?
I am depressed!
And yes Murray, I know you'd love these prices back home. While I'm addressing you Murray, they had Canadian club blend in too at £20 (if memory serves). |

Search me, someone recently picked me up a litre bottle from the airport for £40! Should have got two. Quite how Dalmore have the effrontery to put an RRP of more than £50 on the 15 also escapes me. _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

£52 for a 15yo, or £47 for a 10yo......... Though I do agree as the quality of Ardbeg tears strips off the quality of Dalmore IMO
If one were to take a look at the tesco bargain thread on page one, it's not 'that' many years ago that you could pick Ardbeg 10 up for less than £20 when on offer. |

It is not just Ardbeg many of the prices at the airport have risen sharply in a very short period. I have also noticed the travel retail shops are moving more towards travel retail exclusive bottlings, many with no age statement and often not cheap for what they are offering. _________________ There's no bad whisky. 20% off most whiskies in Waitrose at the moment, so stock up.
I bought a Glenfarclas 12 for £27. |

That's a great offer - how often do you see a 15 year-old at that price? Cheers nitram! |

I see the Aberlour A'bunadh is back down to £33.50, as it was last October.
If it's batch 48, Ralfy wasn't exactly over-the-moon about it in his YouTube video but, even if the quality has dropped, it's still a good buy at that price.
FYI, Ralfy's video:

They still had some bottles of batch 47 near me so I picked up one of those. Very good. Dunno about batch 48, but I take Ralfy's reviews with a pinch of salt. More * and self indulgence than anything else. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Picked up the Knockando 1999 in Waitrose today, which they have "reduced to clear" for £25 (down from £33). Even better price than the £26.50 they reduced it to last December. |

As per last October, and the October before, Aberlour A'bunadh is back down to £33.50. I'm off to get a bottle or two tomorrow. |
