National Bourbon Day falls on June 14 to recognize the Official Spirit of America.
"Legend has it that bourbon was first produced by Reverend Elijah Craig this day in 1789. The story goes that Craig, apparently already a distiller of note, was either warming oak staves over a fire as part of barrel making or charred a barrel that had contained fish to remove the smell".
What's your favorite bourbon if you have one? I enjoy the Weller offerings myself.
Cheers. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I don’t have a favorite that I keep, but if I did Elijah Craig would be a consideration. I drink bourbon neat just like I do everything else.
I have recently been exploring wheated bourbons & purchased a bottle of Green River Wheated. On National Bourbon Day I tried some Holladay Red Wheated from Holladay Distillery established by the stagecoach king Ben Holladay in 1856, Weston, MO. |
