39.99 we’ve got a load in our store, not much prominence given to it. I’ll grab a bottle today and try and review it this week.

Just got a bottle and given that it states 43% that gives immediate shout of Bowmore?

Given that its nose immediately has a phenolic smoky note with an abundance of floral and grassy tips in the background masking a fruity apple tart, also makes me think this may be a Bowmore.

The palette is all over the place, Sherry, burnt rubber, iodine, burnt camphor, candied fruits with a dose of meths - walnuts. Almost like a Waldorf salad with some savoury notes which aren’t unpleasant.

Finish is slightly bitter think Granny Smiths toffee apple with a dose of cigars and dark chocolate pralines.

Whatever it is, I quite like it, even though it’s early in the year for me to go for an Islay. For £40 it’s a good shout for sure, whilst it might not hit the heights of the ‘Mortlach’ Aldi bottled some years back, find me any 19 yo islay at this price.

And find me an aged Bowmore at that price 👍🏾

Thanks for the review WM , I liked it also, there's enough in it to please enough people, bowmore was a very good shout I also thought last years was a bowmore also,
