I have just been given a bottle of this Whisky from my 75 year old mum, who tells me it was my grandfathers. Unopened and with the led seal in perfect un opened condition. It looks new, if one can say that about a bottle of Whiskey.
I am curious as to how old it is. Realising a date probably can't be given, but with the bottle showing a seal running down its side and the led top this characteristic must fall within a date range.
The bottle has a number on its underside: SB 208 P 1 UGB
Was it a good Whisky
Is there any history
Is it rare
Does it have a value or should I open it now!? |

It sounds like this bottle is quite old and I think it would be worth getting the bottle properly valued as it may be worth a few pound.
I can recommend contacting Bonhams in Edinburgh.

Bonhams offers free and confidential valuations with a view to selling.
Contact Martin Green whisky[at]bonhams.com If you send them detailed info and images they may be able to advise you on a value for your whisky.
