I got a bottle of Lagavulin 16 in a gift exchange and I'm wondering if I should try it or return it. All Whiskey I've ever drank tasked like poison but the reviews say this is really good whisky. So is this actually good or does it just taste like Whiskey, Should I try it, is it a game changer and theirs a chance I like it or is it more or less just Whiskey?

If you have never liked any whisky you.have tasted I doubt you would like Lagavulin, it is quite an acquired taste, it is a very peaty whisky.

If you particularly like smoky food there is a chance that this may be the whisky you will like but it would be unusal not to like other whiskies and to like this. Do let us know if you do open it and if you like it or not.

It tastes like an ashtray. But in a great way. Don’t open it as you’ll think that all whisky is poison! Perhaps start a collection and circle back to it in a year Very Happy
