Merry Christmas and Happy New Year guys, been quiet on here as I make radical changes to my life battling severe disabling OCD for the first time in private hospital in the middle of Central London. Therapist tells me to do what I enjoy, so been visiting whisky bars and shops on the sly! Very Happy

I only randomly discovered Millroy's by chance visiting a coffee shop across the road, one day before they closed early over xmas for COVID. I have two weeks left in London after New Years and looking to make the most of it, so if anyone has any whisky suggestions then let me know!

I was gonna sign up to SMSW and visit their members house, but can't be bothered now I have so little time left!

Hey BigShing sorry to hear your going through what must be a battle for you, and I hope the treatment you are having at the moment is helping you now and will help you going forward.
This last year has been a momentous time for me also health wise and I am looking forward to kicking 2021 into touch and moving into a better place.

I sincerely wish the same for you and 2022 will be better I know. Take care. Tim.

Thank you Timp, and I am doing significantly better, so much that I am having to face a future that may be almost completely OCD free and I can no longer be considered disabled, which means I have to figure out what the hell I want to do with my life. I would genuinely consider working in a whiskey bar/shop short term so I can bum around london more later in the year, but the pandemic has pretty much crippled retail/bars so that may not be a viable option. I have other interests and options though I guess!

I hope you continue to be well and your health improves more and more! Onwards and upwards I say, and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year bud!

Glad it’s helping.

Getting a job in the industry in whatever form ( just so we have an excuse to talk about the thing we love all day! ) is a desire quite a few of us have here I imagine, so I hope something comes your way. Glencairns crossed!

Cheers for the best wishes mate. Same to you.

You have my utmost respect BigShing opening up about your OCD. My 17 year old daughter suffers terribly with it & has had a huge impact on family life. Talking helps.
All the best in the future.

CHeers Jez, sorry to hear your daughter is suffering from it and understand completely what a massive impact that is, I've had mine bad for almost thorty years now (from the age of about 14) so quite the seasoned veteran. Right now I can claim to have eradicated about 90% of the external OCD (so the compulsions, most of the intrusive thoughts, etc), but have deep rooted issues that are the core beliefs that manifested the OCD, that shit is harder and more complex and will take time. Dunno how bad your daughter is but if you ever need anyone to talk to for advice on OCD then obviously you can message me.

A belated Merry Christmas to all.

While this forum isn't the busiest around, I find the contributions and opinions generally informative. Thank you William for continuing to support this platform to be free to use.

All the best and Happy New Year when it comes.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all!
The only good thing about this pandemic is that it started me on my scotch/whiskey journey (had to find a hobbie).
And Santa was pretty good to me - got a bottle of Highland Park 12, Ardbeg An Oa, Pike Creek 10 yr, and a Johnnie Walker Discover tasting pack.
Should be set for new years eve!
