Finally got this bottle delivered today and looking forward to seeing how it changes as the bottle goes down.
Not quite as good as i remember but still a quality dram and one that constantly changes in the glass, which goes equally for the nose and palate. I think the nose is very good at around 90p but the palate could be anywhere between 86-92 points at any given time.
If the mouthfeel was a bit more substantial and the finish longer it probably would get an average of 90 points.
£88 for a litre bottle, not bad.

Nose
90

Christmas pudding, hints of orange, Turkish Delight chocolate bar, cocoa powder, hints of coffee granules, plump rich raisins, caramel.rich sherry overlaid with something more fruity like black cherry which could be the port casks in the vatting?
A rich and inviting nose, hints at the juiciness to follow.

Taste
88

First mouth full, is very juicy with some sweetness but just a hint of oak at the back.
Plenty of interplay with the flavours on show, the balance is good and there is a nice fizzy spice note.
There is a stewed fruit note that mixes red plumb, black cherries and blackcurrants with a softer fruit of ripe mango but that is in the background.
The spice note increases and there is the faintest edge of sweet peat, hints of orange liqueur and then another wave of spice that is sweeter this time and adds to the interest.
The spice and sweetness at the front take centre stage mouthfeel is really good.
if this had more depth of profile after the really excellent initial hit of flavours, this would get a 93p sort of score.

Finish
87

Difficult to be objective at first, but honesty is what this is all about and the finish needs to be a little better and lags the nose and palate.
But it keeps changing and flitting between sweetness, then slightly sour fruit, then spice but there is a void behind it, basically it fades too quickly and you are left feeling that you have been let down a bit because the nose and palate were better.

With water:-
The nose has more spice and more orange, lovely aroma.
More of everything basically.
Water has subdued things, (perhaps I put too many drops in)?
Hang on more spice is there, more rich fruit, orange, candied chocolate orange.
