Hi all
I just discovered this marvellous forum and as someone who is lucky enough to have only recently started my whisky journey and am now devoted to the subject I am lucky enough also to live less than 500 yards from the soon to open Ad Gefrin distillery in Wooler, Northumberland.
I will include a link if anyone is interested but they will using local very high quality malted barley and have commissioned Forsyths for the stills. There will (predictably) be a visitors centre and shop/cafe on site.
I have a lot of faith in the individuals involved who are a local Wooler family who importantly with own both the distillery and the land upon which it is situated.
Fingers crossed for 2022 and it is very exciting to see construction proceeding apace so close to me.

All the best and hope some members are able to give our lovely part of the country a visit for a distillery tour soon
All the best

Hi Timp
Many thanks...it will certainly be a bonus in years to come if Ad Gefrin do things right.
Although I imagine their production will be in the Speyside style and I am veering towards the Highland/Islay malts I am sure I can be persuaded to deviate given the convenience _________________ It is better to have fought and lost than not have fought at all. |
