Jura bottle goes on sale today, decent age but of course, like the others, super expensive. Made a bit more palatable that £25 of it is going to the committee...

Interesting to note the Lagavulin is *not* its usual prompt sell out - mix of price and age not appealing?

Yeah I did purchase a bottle, but I can understand those who didn’t. Compared to last years offering, well it doesn’t compare.

I think they're just not enough flippable to justify bulk-buy. The margin isn't gonna be there, given they are not particularly interesting bottlings per se - too young and not scarce enough.

Equally, buying them to drink doesn't make sense - if you really want a cask strength Laga, buy some indie stuff (the Elements series is great) or even the £110 12 years SE 2019 (which still is bonkers imho).

Some on auction https://www.thegrandwhiskyauction.com/live-auction/q-lagavulin%202021 !

Bold considering Malts.com has some for sale still.

On another note I am quite pleased there are a few Aber Falls going so might be able to nab a second or third bottle https://www.thegrandwhiskyauction.com/live-auction/q-aber%20falls
