|
|
Brora Triptych is a set of 3 whiskies each of which is said to represent Brora's distinct flavours. The set, Brora Triptych Elusive Legacy, Age of Peat and Timeless Original is being released to mark the completion of the restoration of the Brora distillery.
As I am sure you can guess you will need deep pockets to get hold of a set with a RRP of £30,000 but if there are any generous lottery winners amongst you I wouldn't mind a taste of these.

Nice to see the Brora name back. If only my funds would stretch to two sets. One to drink and one to keep.
Looks like I'll have to stop dreaming and spend my money on interesting things like getting the extension re roofed to make it properly water tight once more. |

That always crosses my mind, how many bottles from releases like this get drunk, i would drink all mine if i had the money.
I wonder when we will see something from the new Brora, will it be a overpriced 3 year old or do they plan to wait until it is a matured whisky. |

If I had unlimited funds I would also just drink what I wanted. I may one day be able to test this theory (euro millions win dependent) but I have a feeling that the ceiling on my whisky palate is significantly below £10k bottles. I think I may have a big problem if I ever was lucky enough to be able to taste a v old rare and expensive whisky and found that it was worth the money but my gut feeling would be I taste it think that's lovely but not £9900 worth better than (insert name of favourite whisky here).
Best test for this would be a blind tasting. |

It is very much the rarity that you are paying for with bottles like this, I like to think that they are top quality examples of what Brora produced but too far out of my budget for me to find out, still good to see what the other half are drinking. |

If £30,000 is a little rich for your pocket then you may find something a little easier on the pocket at the up coming special Brora auction hosted by Whisky Auctioneer offering whisky enthusiasts the chance to grab some of the rarest single malt whiskies produced at the 'old' Brora distillery.
