I was looking to see if anyone could recommend any distilleries in the north of Scotland, particularly speyside, that may be suitable for a stag doo. By that I mean somewhere that offer a private room after a tour. So far I’ve seen Macallan but the only premium tour that they offer is £250 a head and comes with a meal and wines which wouldn’t really be suitable.
Likewise if anyone could recommend any whisky bars in the same area that may also have something to offer then please make a suggestion.
Not a lot of places may accept a group of possibly rowdy men but we were looking for a slightly more civil affair despite what many proprietors may assume 😂

I’d go to the Highlander Inn and take downstairs - what kind of numbers you talking about?

Speyside isn't the North of Scotland Wink A private room post tour is not something I've seen often at a distillery, I normally sort the tour I'm interested in and then head for food / more whisky in the local area.

Strathisla have a bar area where you can sample a lot of the DRC bottlings.

BenRiach have a tasting room where the staff are normally pretty relaxed about you staying on for a bit assuming it is neither too late nor do they have another tour coming in after you.

Macallan have the bar area upstairs; while it's not private, it's huge; so you'd have your own space. Drams are pricey tho - not many bargains to be found.

Highlander Inn is a great shout.

The Malt Room, Inverness is a great wee pub. Private space available for booking upstairs with bespoke tastings on offer.
