Nose
86
This is textbook, older glenlivet 12, green apple, green apple skins, hints of vanilla and peat, yellow plum and warm pastry notes.
Taste
84
quite creamy at first with a touch of peat, marshmallow and a little green apple but nothing like what the nose hinted at.
there is some OBE and the palate is tad tired for my liking.
After time in the glass some peat comes through but also some bitterness which affects the palate, definitely a bit flabby this one
Finish
82
not that long and rather weak
Another one that promised more than it actually gave _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

Sometimes they just don't live up to expectations. On a positive note, I recently opened my bottle of Glenfiddich The Original limited edition based on the 1963 recipe. I've had it for a few years. Surprisingly, even as an NAS whisky, it is excellent. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
