|

Have tried a fair few different whisky’s now and got me thinking which distillery is my favourite. Whilst I love many the one that springs to mind, every bottle I have had I have thoroughly enjoyed and would happily just buy a new bottle because of what I’ve had before, is
Drum roll pls
Glenmorangie
My second, which will be contentious, would be Johnny Walker as apart from the Red label, I have found to be quite different and worthy of being in my cabinet.
So if you had to pick only 2 distilleries to drink in future what would they be ? |

I think I'd be quite content drinking anything from Tobermory or Springbank providing it's under £100 (anything over that from either is rather overpriced, I feel).
Both have peated and non peated variants so all bases covered.
As for my favourite distillery, I'm afraid I couldn't say. There is one particular one that has wall to wall bangers or enough variety for me! |

I do enjoy a lot of the Talisker range, also enjoy Glenfarclas and Dalmore, but one of my favourite is Mackmyra, their seasonal releases really do have a unique taste, |

Early days it was glenmo, glenlivit, but as you venture into the world to explore it changes, glendronach, ardbeg, then again anything from cambletown goes down very well. |

As my favorite Islay I would say Lagavulin & their three. For a Speyside I would say the Balvenie with their range of bottlings but specifically their DoubleWood 12. |

Think Caol Ila would still win. Hard to say tho, but really enjoyed their 25, and their base range is delicious as well. |

A really hard question limiting is to just 2 distilleries
My favourite distillery for some time has been Brora, but been able to drink that sort of whisky is fast diminishing.
Another favourite of mine used to be Balblair but their prices have become absurd of late £500 for a 25 year etc.
One distillery that has come on my radar in the last 5 years id Benromach, I think their latest 15 year is bang for your buck.
So right now still Brora joined by Benromach. _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

Springbank and Bruichladdich as their variety of output is/could keep me entertained for the rest of my allotted! |

Has to be Glendronach, ever since i had the old 15yo revival for the first time. the new 15yo isn't as good, and i aint no big fan of the 12, but the Allardice 18 has no peers if you have a sweeter tooth and love sherry bomb's - pity the prices keep rising so much. I also adore ardbeg, and recently had the blair athol which was great, same with various Arran's, Deanston 12 was great as well - maybe i shouldnt have answered this post as i love you all ~) |

I’m with you - my fave is the 21. However despite me falling in love with the distillery and I visited it often. Unfortunately since they have sold out I’ve not really been enamored with the new stuff.
Balblair and Mortlach I also moved away from due to their lack of decent core range offerings. I’m struggling to think of a whisky distillery that I would tell someone that I would seek beyond any others. Although my favourite distillery in the world, hands down, is Foursquare and it has been for about 8 years. NEVER a bad bottle and the core range available is consistently brilliant. |

Yeah I've been getting into my Rum this year and Foursquare products just scream out within that industry imo. I've had Doorly's 12yr, Rum Sixty Six 12yr and also purchased but not opened the Doorly's XO & 16yr and Foursquare's 2008 exceptional cask selection, which I've promised to open when I can finally do so among friend!
What do you consider to be their core range WM? Just the Doorly's or a number of other ranges like Rum Sixty Six, Neptune, etc? |

I see their core range as Doorlys, 66 (brilliant btw all of them) and also whisky technically not ‘core’ their Exceptional bottlings which whilst limited come out regularly and are all utterly brilliant. |

Yeah the reviews for their exceptional cask selections are pretty insane, havne't found a bad one yet and most of them are priced every reasonably around £50-£60. Long may that continue! Definitely plan to get more than just one bottle in 2021! |
