I know it's a controversial subject but we've seen a boom in whisky investment. Now it seems rum is going the same way.

There is now a brand new Facebook group discussing investment in both for those interested.

You are right it is controversial, so here is controversial reply, I wish all these here today gone tomorrow whisky investors would sod off because you are one of the drivers for prices of anything old., rare or worth drinking going up exponentially.

Quite mild actually compared to what I really want to say Wink

Charles McKay's "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" is worth reading on the subject of speculation. As someone who buys whisky for drinking, I'm looking forward to the day that the speculators move on to something else. I suspect that rum could be ripe for an investment bubble as it has a much more accessible flavor profile than most Scotch (not that any of the expensive stuff will ever be drink).
