Hello

Long time peruser first time poster (i think?).

I'm in the uk and want to get a bottle to a friend in Austria for a significant birthday. I assume the best way would be to order from shop in mainland Europe /Austria for local delivery rather than sending from here.

Wondering if anyone has any advice on the most cost effective way of doing this in consideration of differing alcohol duties versus postage costs. If an Austrian/German supplier is most cost effective are there any recommendations?

Looking at a talisker 18 or special release type bottle, though the 25 is definitely out od budget!

Thanks

The Talisker 18 is an outstanding whisky and there are a few UK based online whisky shops which ship to Austria

The Whisky Barrel Delivery £19 takes 2 to 3 days

Loch Fyne Whiskies Delivery for 1 -6 Bottles is £12.98

The Whisky Exchange Delivery for 1 bottle is £13

Another option is to use Amazon Germany. If you have a UK account you can also log into the foreign sites.

Ok thanks. So uk pricing is around £100-115 including shipping.

I only really know whiskey.de due their great video reviews but looks like free delivery over €50 so all in around £85. Will try that.

Thanks

I have sent loads of bottles to Germany with Parcel Force with no problems for years. All you have to do is make sure it is very well packed and when they ask (and they will) is tell them it is a bottle of Port of Rum. I say it is a bottle of Port of Rum because I am told with out a licence to export spirits 40% ABV is the max.
