Looks like reasonable value in the grand scheme of things for a Lagavulin. I think the UK only has hurt them - and advertising/promotion seemed to be very Facebook-centric. I am a 'friend of the classic malts' and on the mailing list and don't recall anything coming through... _________________ Inverness Whisky @in5tadram
I've followed them on facebook and have seen enough adverts for this. I can't get over how absurd the prices for older whisky are though - we see something close to £200 and go 'yeah it's fine in the grand scheme of things'

Yup pricing has gone a bit nuts. But cask strength, age statement, sherry influenced OB Lagavulin is a rarity and so the scheme of things here is more than just reflecting the 20yr. _________________ Inverness Whisky @in5tadram
Oh yeah I'm not contesting your point - the Lagavulin price isn't absurd in context. But the prices of older whiskies (whether cask strength, limited edition etc. etc.) as a whole spiralled out of control a while ago, and the fact that we think £200 is reasonable is evidence of that. Nothing against Lagavulin and Diageo in this instance in particular - it's just evidence of a wider issue. Luckily the prices of younger whiskies are mostly unaffected by this and are rising at reasonable rates.
