I'm a lockdown whisk(e)y convert. Monkey Shoulder was my first scotch and my novice palate really likes it neat. I got it for £22. I also have a Chivas Regal 12 that I bought for £20. Sometimes I prefer one, and next time the other. Both are very drinkable neat.

Accurate assesment. Haven't had a monkey shoulder in a while but a reasonable daily drinker.. Need a blend so might have a look today for something.

I have since posting this thread tried Johnny Walker gold and I find it far superior

Try the Green Label 15 (even better nab one in auction from 2010ish) best JW out there IMO.
