I just wanted to wish all Forum members the best during these very difficult times with the corona virus worldwide. I am here in Canada and most public places are pretty well shut down in my province of Ontario as well as schools, recreational facilities, etc. Thinking of everyone and hope you fare well during these very difficult times. We are a tight whisky community and I wanted to express my solidarity with you all worldwide.
Cheers,

Yes very difficult times for all, it is still very early days but hopefully our governments response will limit the impact of the coronavirus, time will tell.
I have been stock piling whisky for years and I think a few bottles will be getting opened if I was to find I have contracted the virus. |

Yes difficult times, sadly I could see the impact here in the west being much greater than it has been in China due to how it is being handled by our politicians.
Stay safe all, |

Worrying times for friends and family who are particularly at risk. Also worrying to think governments will possibly be making financial decisions on how it handles this. |

Just watching WHO spokesman on the BBC news and the clear message is TEST TEST TEST which the UK is not doing, they have people self-isolating without knowing they have the virus they also advise to continue isolating for 2 weeks after all symptoms are clear. Boris Johnson needs to take heed of this advice and begin implement it.
What’s the testing like in Canada Murray? |

I hope the government experts are correct in their assessment as we seem to be doing things differently and much slower than everybody else.
I have an awful feeling we have been slow on the uptake, I hope I am wrong? _________________ Pour me a glass please. |

My understanding is that 25,000 people have been tested so far in Canada. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

The truth is the UK simply does not have the resources to test all who need tested and we have a prime minister failing to tell us that.
I will be now be working from home as much as possible unfortunately many don't have this option.
Stay safe all, cheers. |

There is at least a few tough months ahead for all countries, I can only hope the governments and experts are getting it right on how we approach them but one thing is for certain life how we know it has changed for now.
At least I will still have the pleasure of my daily dram at home of Scotch single malt whisky. Stay safe folks. |

There seems to be no problem stock piling whisky, it is toilet rolls I am having trouble sourcing. Seriously some people have gone mad here with stock piling some items which is creating a problem for others such as the elderly when they go grocery shopping. |

Cheers Murray for adding this thread, we are in the same boat on this side of the water, worrying times for all I think. Be sensible and try to stay safe is all we can do now and hopefully the numbers effected can be kept down. |

I will certainly be venturing out as little as possible in the months ahead, my family are insisting on doing shopping and errands for my wife and I. I have been stock piling the whisky for some years now so I will survive I think.
Stay safe, cheers all. |
