|
|
It is very rare for me to sing a company's praises, but I am so impressed with Bartels Whisky.
In particular, their recent "Speyside 1995 23yo". Check out the colour of this baby. Awesome. Can't wait to crack it open. |

50cl bottles, mind.
Still, worth a punt for the price. |

Good point that is only 34 litters from 475-500 litters - all the tasting bottles that where taken so my guess is it is going to be very intense and full of flavour.... |

Opened the Bartels "Speyside 1995 23yo". Quite surprised. Not what I expected. An interesting savoury sub-plot going on. After one small dram, can't find decent descriptors as yet |

Is it as dark as the photo? I've never had a whisky so dark/aged exclusively in sherry casks for so long. It's very tempting
It works out at the equivalent of £91 per 70cl though so I can't make up my mind.
Is it 'good' or is it a special bottle? |

Thanks for the recommendation. I ordered a bottle which I opened tonight as I was intrigued by the reviews and independent bottling. Incredible dram for the money; will savour this one! |

Yes it is as dark as the photo suggests. It’s a good bottle. Certainly pushing 90 points. Perhaps 88. |

It does sound remarkable but unfortunately I can't really justify the cost at the moment.
I'm very jelous of the super dark nature of the spirit though, you guys have got a really unique dram there by the looks of it! |
