Wow I do not know if I would just love to see it all in one place or own it? I say that as this collection needs to be seen not locked away in another room for the next 20 years...

"Colorado-based Richard Gooding, who once owned one of the largest soft-drink distributors in the US, spent more than 20 years amassing his collection."

I wonder how many he got to actually open... makes you think!

I was thinking if he was flying by private jet to find the bottles, did he pay any import tax taking them into the USA? and did they have to pay to bring them back into the UK?

I do wonder if this auction was all set in motion before Trumps 25% tax and if the whisky is all here in the UK now, as many high end buyers will no doubt be in the US and I would imagine a 25% tax will be a consideration when bidding.

I was wondering that too, how many of what his family is selling did he actually taste in his lifetime?

Watching the video it does seem to suggest that he was buying more then one of each bottle so he could open some of them and his pilot was saying that he was a keen drinker of whisky..
