I have tried all sorts of glasses over the years and have dozens at home, specifically for whisky.
The best for aromas in the glass I have found are a short stemmed, wider bottomed copita from Gordon & Macphail in Elgin and a slim tulip glass (slimmer than a Glenmorangie glass) with a long stem from a shop in St Andrews, (not Luvians).

A friend got me a Talisker 57 North that came with what I can only describe as bottomless Glencairns, they've been excellent for sipping and studying!
