I believe some of them are new - the Lagavulin 9 year old for example?
But some have just been rebranded - Cardhu Gold and Royal Lochnagar 12. Not sure about the rest! |

Some are new, and some are rebranded.
At £400 for a full set, I imagine these will flood the auction sites come the end of Feb and all of March... Be interesting to see how much they go for. |

With an unusual month's pre-order, I imagine that Diageo's plan is (at least to a certain extent) to 'adjust' demand to supply.
Any such such adjustment is surely likely to mean that short-term flippers make very little. |

I expect the fact that a US set for £2k on Scotch Whisky Auctions will fuel sales, I'd expect auctions to be flooded post-release. |

£2000?! That's insane. Some people have no patience! |

Yeah I'd hate to be that guy when he realises they're being released elsewhere... |

According to Robbie's Drams, just those two are rebranded:
"Two of the whiskies are already available in the UK well be it packaged in different livery, namely the Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old and Cardhu Gold Reserve with the other six being new expressions." |

Two of The Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection line up are not new expressions, namely the Cardhu Gold Reserve and Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old, these are the existing expressions which are simply being presented in the Game of Thrones packaging. The other six whiskies in the line up are new expressions.
Amazon are still taking pre-orders for each bottle in the set, with no limits on the number of bottles you can order, see here https://amzn.to/2RGvzCR
Amazon are also taking pre-orders for the complete set, priced £398, see here https://amzn.to/2CCgFmH _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Probably another example of precision marketing with it being slowly released to a couple of different spots and maybe a few bottles out to the ‘social media influencers’ to get the hype going. I’ve seen nothing that I’d purchase over say a decent bottle from the likes of cadenhead or SMWS. The auction market will saturate with these in the months to come. |

I have only pre-ordered one for now, the Dalwhinnie, if I hear good things about the Talisker and Lagavulin or indeed any of the others then I will grab a bottle if they are still available. Mine will be for drinking as I cant say that I have watched Game of Thrones so it is not of much interest to me for collecting, not that I really collect, my collection is for drinking. |

The Lagavulin 8 year old at 48%abv will take some beating but the GOT Lagavulin 9 could be interesting. |

There were cases of this in the store a few weeks back. I don't see anything to get excited about, unless you're a GOT fan boy. I did bring home one of the Talisker.

Agreed. Just slick marketing. Nothing more. |
