I also read on scotchwhisky.com it was limited to 4500 bottles. That can't be right.

I contacted Amazon regarding their statement of this whisky being exclusive to amazon.
This is their response:

We can confirm that only 4500 bottles (350 9Ls) of Bowmore 19-year-old have been produced and all stock is solely distributed through Amazon.
If the whisky is indeed available through other retailers, this is the result of secondary wholesaling by Amazon customers.

This product is now readily available from our suppliers - it may have been exclusive to Amazon when it first went live but it is now available to others.
While we can not disclose our suppliers to you, I can confirm that we have purchased this from a reputable supplier.

Anyways I think Amazon might be right because on bowmore website it also says Amazon exclusive release:

Seems like finally run out of stock at Amazon, though I see that it is still available at the same price at Masters of Malt.

Bowmore have released a 2nd batch of the Bowmore 19 Year Old French Oak although they haven't revealed the number of bottles this time and again it is available from Amazon

Please do get this whisky if you're even remotely interested in wine casks. It is a bit expensive, but in my mind well worth the price.

Wine casks in my perception tend to be either really good or really bad and to my palate this is definitely the former.
