Glasgow based whisky maker and blender Whyte & Mackay have been busy once again, last night they launched a new Scotch blended whisky called The Woodsman, described as a new modern Scotch blended whisky which gives traditional blended whisky flavours the chop.

The Ohio connection is interesting William-transatlantic partnership as mentioned. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I loved their phrase in the marketing spiel 'a category disrupter'.. yeh, clearly a real discount, reduced to clear category disrupter!
Would love to be proved wrong, but given the statement about new drinkers being put off by "traditional category cues", I hope we see a load of glittery bottles with no reference to anything traditional like wood or a woodsman for instance!
Looking forward to the new bottlings of Barleyman and Maltman |

I wouldn't knock it until I have tried it, I am a fan of blended whisky as well as malt whisky so I am sure I will give it a go at some point, hopefully it is a decent blend and not stuffed full of young whisky, on paper it sounds like I would like it. |
