The Loch Lomond Distillery Company, owners of the closed Littlemill distillery, have just unveiled a limited release Littlemill 27 Year Old 2017 Private Cellar Edition expression. It is the creation of Michael Henry, Master Blender at the Loch Lomond Distillery company, Michael selected eight casks from 1990.

That is quite an asking price for a bottle of Littlemill, if that is the way prices are going I wish I had kept what I have drunk on the past, it was ok but nothing special but who knows after 27 years in some good casks this could be a stunner. |

I do like it when they throw in a miniature of the whisky as well, I wish that was more common practice.
I have had a few bottles of Littlemill 8 year old in the past it was sweet and a little spicy, still not your typical lowlander though, it was a decent enough young drinkable whisky. Perhaps the passing of 27 years in decent casks has produced a outstanding whisky, you would certainly hope so at £2250 a bottle. |

It's a lovely idea to throw in a miniature like that to allow you to have a taste but because it's part of the whole presentation case, I'm betting that it will lower the overall value if you do open the miniature. |
