|
|
Hi,
I noticed this interesting blog piece on The Whisky Exchange site with Nikka's European brand ambassador Sayumi Oyama.
Among the interesting reading are the following quotes:
"[On rumours there is Ben Nevis in Nikka Pure Malt White] We try to use only Japanese whisky, but I think today it is necessary to use malt from other countries."
and
"I hope the age statements will be coming back. We can't say when, but hopefully within 10 years"
I REALLY hope I don't have to wait 10 years to taste Yoichi 10 and 15 again... seems like a really long time! Looks like the Japanese whisky boom is going to continue for sometime yet. I do wonder however if the need for NAS is going to put buyers off in the interim period? I guess it will all depend on the quality. Also I wouldnt be surprised to hear Suntory are going to remove some of the age statement range soon as well.

I did enjoy the Nikka Yoichi 10 very much and will miss it. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
