Does anybody have any dates for the release? Tried my local Lidls today and no sign. Either I’m premature or late to the party! |

For the price I tried Ralfy's tip both neat and with a drop of added extra malt. Well worth the money working on a budget. |

I saw a bottle of 40yr old Tawny Port in Aldi yesterday which might be the first of the seasonal drinks. I don't know about Lidl but I feel that Aldi have very much focussed away from Whisky in the last year so I agree, we may not see one this year from them. |

I think there has been a general trend across many of the supermarket to focus on the gin market and reduce the whisky range to save space for that purpose. |

I agree, it does feel ironic considering that Whisky has never sold for more money or in greater quantities as it does now but maybe that isn't to the general public anymore. |

It will be some algorithm telling shops how to maximise their return on shelf space. I get the impression a lot of mass market gin is mixed and becomes little more than grown-up socially acceptable alcopop |

As predicted by others, their offers booklet is out and nothing special going on this year. I was in the other day and picked up the Rumbero 7y.o.which I've always found to be decent at £17.99, and relatively scarce.
I've never tried their Ben Bracken range (well maybe I did, years ago, when the Speysider was rumoured to be Tamnavoulin, or maybe my memory's making it up).
So, for anybody that's familiar with these, can you shed any light on whether they're worth buying? Highland = Glenfarclaslike according to previous posts? What about the Islay and Speyside?
Also, is the Abrachan blended malt worth a punt? |

Lidl have now knocked a pound of their already cheap Ben Bracken Speyside, Highland and Islay malts to £16.49. |
