Ben Bracken 12 yr old blend. Reduced to £9.99 a bottle. Definitely worth a punt. |

Not so much an offer, but a definite bargain.
Xmas whiskies are back in Lidl. Ben Bracken single malt 27yo Speyside for £49.99 and 22yo Islay for £44.99.
The Glen Albas from last year are back too with a 34yo blended for £49.99.
Already picked up both Ben Bracken. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

In my opinion having both last night. - it's good but nowhere near as good as the aldi (which is a tenner less). It's a light, fruity and balanced dram. I got a touch of sherry, although it is mainly aged in bourbon casks. Like a balblair. |

I should reaffirm that the Ben Bracken is good, very good. Worth getting a bottle and enjoying. Doesn't take water well really but doesn't need it @ 40%. |

I need more time with it, I've come down with a cold now so been off the pop for a week. My first impression was very good. If you paid £100 for it from a main indie bottler then you'd be happy with it, so the fact that it's £50 makes it a no brainer for me. Of course, it's personal preference, but I like old bourbon matured highlanders and it's in that style. If say that of you like Balblair or Glencadam then you'll like it. There are notes in the bottle that remind me of mid 20's Balblair, which ain't no bad thing!
As WM says, Aldi are doing a 28yo Spey for £40. We both believe it to be a sherried Mortlach so totally different beast to the Ben Bracken. Depends on what style you like and your budget.
.......I've bought one of each, they are cheap. Got both the 27 and 22 Ben Bracken and the Glen marnoch 28 for a total of £135. That's for 77 years of whisky and it's all damn good. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Managed to get one of each of the Sherried aged blends from my local Lidl
Hopemail they taste as good as they look, however I fear a substantial amount of yon E150a has been added. |

The Glen Alba range has been discounted by 10%. I had to grab a 25 for a smudge over £30. |

What's the 25 like compared to the 27? _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

For me a more rounded drink - but as its a blend not surprising. There's colouring in here perhaps- however it's a real 'ronseal' dram. 25 year old sherry finished blend. Nailed. |

My Lidl has the 34yo sherry cask reduced from £45 to £30.
Did anyone try it - is it any good?
Worth £30, surely? |

It's very good and for that price it's a no brainer. |
