Tried my local Lidl tonight and they've said that they haven't had stock in yet as the promotion has yet to begin...
Very confusing as all sources seem to say it was released at the end of October and the Christmas brochure doesn't state a release date; usually a sign that it's already out. Then again, as has been said there hasn't been much fanfare about it which is very unusual. Not like this forum to miss it!
Can anyone clarify? |

Glen alba 25 has been in ours for over a year but the 22 been gone for the same time, the 34 been gone for 6 months, I enjoyed the 34 a lot, the 25 is ok and I wasn't lucky enough to try the 22. |

From looking at the bottles they do appear to be rereleases of what was already previously put out in other years. That said, using the same packaging for different releases isn't unusual for both Lidl and Aldi.
The Glen Alba's came out 2 years ago and have been on and off sale since then.
I believe that the pricing is different for the Islay 22, from memory last years was £45-49 and this is £39.99, so could be a different batch. Also their tasting notes aren't anywhere near what I had last year (last years Islay was fruityish and the peat was dialled down).
I go to 2 Lidl's around here and I've not seen either the 25 Glen Alba or the Ben Bracken. I will grab them if and when I see them and compare labels etc... |

I've looked at the pics in the recent catalogue and given that the Ben Bracken 22 states that it was distilled in 1993, you can be fairly certain this is old stock, the Glen Alba 25 also gives a 1990 distillation date.
I've just been to my local one and grabbed 2 bottles of Glen Alba 22 for under £30 (£14.99 each). In fact, in the Xmas brochure, they have a £5 off any spend over £40. Grab 3 bottles of this for under £40 has to be bargain of the year. |

Unfortunately it's usually limited to 2 alcoholic drinks per voucher |

Just popped into a Lidl and they had plenty of the 25yr and a couple of the 34yr old. None of the 22yr old Islay left unfortunately.
Was in the Hartford Road store, near Enfield for anybody who is nearby. Lovely place |

Was lucky today in lidl, managed to pick up the glen alba 22 for £14.99, missed out on this dram since it came out so very happy, had a glass and it's slightly better than the 25 but the 34 knocks spots off them all in my view. |

Mrs Mantis brought home the Lidl Xmas comic yesterday.
Dundalgan 10, Irish £22.99
Ben Bracken 23, Speyside £39.99
Any thoughts?
Also:
Abrachan Triple Oak blended malt £17.49, not sure if this is just regular stock.
Rumbero 7 yo Cuban £19.99
Liberté Aged Black spiced £15.99
Opinions welcome on these... |

It comes in Islay, Speyside and Highland at £17.49 each. I was wondering if more experienced posters could shed any light on this one though. |

This sounds a new one. There have been a 28, 27 and 25 speyside and a 21 islay if I recall correctly. I’ll check later. |

I’ve looked and found a 22 islay, and 27 & 28 speyside so the 23 definitely looks like a new one. |
