I get one every year and Jim puts a little comment in my book and signs it.

I get one every year, I think it's worth it, for reference and checking my own tasting notes.

The last two years he has let rip about sulphur, I wonder if he will maintain the invective? I have a lot of time for his suggestion that sulphur is at least acknowledged as an issue and sulphured casks are rooted out at source, the industry is rolling in money at the moment and could easily fund this.
I'd like to see something in the preface about NAS whiskies too. The first forays into NAS territory were interesting and there have beenreleases I have really enjoyed. However I feel it's now just being exploited in order to destroy the benchmarking of whisky quality and to generate maximum profits with dwindling resources. This is a growing trend and is a greater threat to standards than sulphur IMO. _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

Actually bifter I'm with you all the way on this. I don't want JM to stop banging the sulphur drum. But I do think the NAS market needs exposing. |

I'll be interested too Alun. I pre-ordered a copy last week from Jim Murray's link. He sends me a signed copy with an inscription each year. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Anyone seen anything about this? I can't see anything about it on line, which I assume means it's not yet been released?? |

I have my copy ordered as usual but no sign of it being dispatched yet although it was due out today, which is the norm in my experience of the Whisky Bible, i think it is all a bit of a rush to get all the tastings done and then publish the new edition.
What i would love to see is people like Jim Murray making a comment on the way pricing is going as i really believe there is serious price fixing going on across the board with all whisky producers and it needs looking at. The price is a big factor when buying whisky and whisky drinkers need whisky critcs to start speaking up. But then again do the whisky companies pay the wages of what we are lead to believe are independent whiskt critics and book sales are a sideline as far as income goes for these critics, it makes no sense that they does not comment on prices. |

James the problem in Canada is the government adds to the whisky companies inflated prices. It is not a cheap pastime here. |

Seems to be a delay with the Whisky Bible 2014, supposed to be released on the 7th but some shops are still awaiting stock and are estimating 31st October. |
