So, over the last few days I have been doing my bit to help with the north/south divide and went to visit some pals oop north and ended up in this gaff on the outskirts of Manchester.

Great pub, knowledgeable staff and an excellent selection of whiskies - over 300!

My only reservation was the prices of some drams; however, that was inexperience on my part as usually I only drink ale in pubs due to poor selections.

After comparing prices with the London Albannach I am pleased to report that the prices are almost half!

See link below (this is 1 of 7 pages of what they hold in stock)

Hmmm.

Actually just read the small print that the London bar sells their drams in 50 not 25 servings.

So maybe I was right. Or maybe I am just a tight so and so.

I am surprised to see Dunville's pot still Irish whiskey on there whisky list. This distillery closed in the 1930s and you would pay over a £1000 a bottle for it today and they are selling it for £3.90

I would definitely give this a try given the chance, it would be a taste of what Irish pot still whiskey would have been like over 80 years ago.
