Interesting, could be one to compete with the Aberlour a'bunadh and Glenfarclas 105. Do you know the price on this William. |

If it does turn out to be as good/desirable as the Aberlour a'bunadh then the Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 1 could turn out to be quite collectable. |

Hopefully it will be priced the same as the Aberlour a bunadh, which can usually be gotten for £30 - £35 |

I like the sound of this, always room for another cask strength sherry monster. |

I'd be interested in this assuming it's priced correctly, I guess it has to compete with the A'bunadh and the 105, so should be priced arround those.
I also have the sulphur worry, so would need to see tasting notes before I handed over my coin. |

Ok so I emailed the distillery to ask about this as I was interested and on hold waiting for Edinburgh council (dont ask!)
They told me the RRP will be set for the UK tomorrow as the sales director is in Sweeden. An indication of the price is it will sit somewhere between the 15YO (£40) and 18YO (£50) |

I received confirmation of the price for the GlenDronach Cask strength, it has a UK RRP of £52.99 so not priced to compete with the Aberlour a'bunadh and Glenfarclas 105 as some of you were hoping. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

I got this update too. Surprised its not in the 105 a'bunadh price bracket, they must be confident of it's superiority as they are nas all cask strength sherry monsters |

£52.99 takes it a bit outside my everyday dramming price, thats a bit disappointing. Still i will give it a try but pity it wasnt priced for everyday dramming like the Aberlour a'bunadh |

Just an observation but perhaps the 54.8% ABV level of the new GlenDronach Cask Strength is an indication that there is a good portion of older stuff in it, hence the price. Not that i am justifying the price just suggesting why GlenDronach may have priced it so high. Whereas the Aberlour A'Bunadh is always around 60% indicating it is young as the strength hasnt dropped much from the strength it would have been put to cask which is usually around 63.5% if i remember correctly. |

That's a very good point Keith. Perhaps there is something in that. However, being a NAS makes you think there must be some young spirit in the mix. Well worth keeping an eye out for the reviews I think. |

The mix of young and old can sometimes create a more interesting, complex whisky. Even with good reviews i think this may be a slow seller due to the price they have set. I wonder if i will regret in 10 years not buying a few bottles of batch 1 as an investment. Time will tell. I do hope it is good as i do like a quality sherried dram and the Glendronach 15 Revival is excellent IMO. |
