I bought a bottle this afternoon (keeping it for now), but haven't seen it available anywhere else - is this edition of Jura exclusive only to Sainsbury's?

I see the Jura Red Wine Cask Finish is reduced again but only to £34 for 1 litre this time rather than £30.
Found the first video review of it by a Swedish lady who confirms it is a Sainsbury's exclusive.

Other discounts include Old Pulteney 12 £24 and Tullibardine Sovereign £25.

Sainsbury's current offers on Scotch single malts:

Laphroaig Select @ £23
Glenmorangie 10 Original 35cl @ £15
Jura 10 @ £25
Tullibardine Sauternes Finish @ £30
Tamnavulin Double Cask @ £22
Glen Moray Sherry Cask @ £20
The Glenlivet Captain's Reserve @ £32

I only started my Scotch single malts journey recently with a background liking for peat: the likes of Laphroaig and Talisker. I'm now trying to expand my tastes into smokeless whiskies. From this list I'm tempted to try the Tullibardine Sauternes - does anybody have a view on this dram?

I found the Tullibardine Sauternes Finish citrusy, orange mainly, also honeyed, an ok malt, I wouldn't say it was worth its £40 price but often on offer in Amazon and supermarkets for around £30 which isn't too bad. I personally would go for any of the others on your list first.

Brummie, are you saying laphroaig select, and tamnavulin are better than the tullibardine? If you are I think I’d be giving it a swerve hehe.

If you're new to non-peated whiskies, I'd personally go for the Glenmorangie 10. I think its a nice safe introductory whisky. If you can wait, the 70cl bottle is usually on offer. I wouldn't say its worth its usual £37 price tag!

As a side-note, most folk I know who began their whisky journey, started with non-peated and progressed to peat, rather than the other way around. Laughing
