Sainsbury's Taste The Difference Dun Leire Aged 8 Years Single Malt Irish Whiskey

This was the one that won Irish Whiskey of the year in the 2011 Whisky Bible. I heard that it had been discontinued & I couldn't find it earlier but it has just reappeared in my local Sainsbury's at least.

Has it reappeared elsewhere, or is this an older cache?

Any thoughts on it? I gather that it caused some consternation that a supermarket whiskey got quite such plaudits.

I see a few mentions of there being a number of different batches of this as well, perhaps with varying quality. Is there any way to identify these?

It's just under £22 here, so I'm almost certainly going to make use of some nectar points to take a chance on it.

It is worth a go, a decent Irish whiskey, it is produced by Cooley.

Indeed.

There's a whole shelf of these at my local now, so I guess it must be fully back in action.

Obviously it will be a different batch, i wonder if it matches up to the batch that Jim Murray loved so much. If you do get a bottle krakow i wouldnt mind hearing what you think of it.

I did buy one the other week, but I haven't opened it yet. I will report back when I do.
