Hey guys just looking for a few opinions on what you look for in a whisky bar.
How important is glasswear, does it have to be glencairn?
Range, how many malts are enough?
Price, what would you pay?
anything else you can think of

i would expect a decent tasting glass if i was paying for a decent whisky. I would think the glencairn whisky glass would be the best choice for a bar due to its sturdyness.

I would suggest starting with a range of malts representing the different whisky regions and styles and if you guage what is popular in the bar you can gradually increase the styles and brands which sell well.

It is perhaps a good idea to have a menu of the whiskies you are selling and include a tasting note for each whisky for the curious or those not familiar with whisky.

There is a place here that does a "flight" of Bourbons, it's about 4/5 different types of whisky but just smaller servings so you can try some you haven't before but you are not stuck with a glass full that you don't like.
