Hi there I've been working at an old friends all week and I mentioned Whisky ,upon which my old friend appeared with two bottles from his cupboard both are from the 1960's I guessed as the volume was imperial both measure 26 2/3fl.ozs both are 70deg proof no 1 whyte&mackay 21yr old blend the other no 2 crawfords five star both are in pretty good condition but no boxes and both are sealed , can anybody help with an approximate value of each of these , we have a sweep going for a bit of fun closest to the value wins 50 p per bottle. If you really need pics I will do my best but John or jab had to post the last time for me cheers Alan. Sorry about the big spiel!!![/i] |

Crawfords 5 Star was discontinued but they do still produce the Crawfords 3 Star but even that can be pretty hard to come by but you will find the 3 Star available in a few online whisky shops. Benrinnes single malt was a long time component in the Crawfords 5 Star blend.
You will find the Crawfords 3 Star today for around £13. The Crawfords 5 Star would be difficult to find now but i think they do sometimes come up at auction, my guesstimate would be around £80 - £100
Not sure about the 1960s whyte & mackay 21 year old as far as value is concerned as i havent seen one from the 1960s for sale but it may well be worth more than the Crawfords.
Just my opinion so my guesstimate may be way out, i would suggest contacting Mctears or Bonhams auctions if you are thinking about selling any of them or if you are opening them, enjoy. |
