Happy St Patrick Day to you all.

I just wonder what Irish whiskey do others drink regularly. What whiskey do you consider as the best Ireland has to offer. The 2 which i enjoy and rate very highly are Bushmills 1608 400th Anniversary and Redbreast 12 year old.

I very much enjoy the Bushmills 16 year old

My choice of Irish whiskey would be Bushmills 16, i had the Bushmills 21 year old once and it was excellent but it is expensive for a 21 year old whiskey. The Redbreast 12 to me offers the best value for money.

Tyrconnell have a few different cask finish bottlings that are very good. IMO the Tyrconnell 10 Port Finish is excellent so is the Tyrconnell 10 Sherry Finish. Best of all is the Tyrconnell 10 Madeira Fiinish. Although i have to say a little expensive for 10 year old whiskey.

I enjoy the Redbreast 12 and i have enjoyed a few bottles of Tullamore Dew in the past an easy to drink Irish blend.

Is it my imagination or does 99.9% of Irish whiskey get bottled at 40% ABV

I hadnt really given much thought before but i just looked in the Irish whiskey section on TWE, it isnt quite 99.9% of Irish whiskey but 15 out of the 59 bottles they list are 40%. It seems like the 40% barrier is being broken mainly by Cooleys range of whiskey.
