Was down at Aldi early this morning and was soon joined by 2 nice ladies also whisky bargain hunters - half an hour before opening there were 6 of us in the queue and as the store opened we were all able to purchase a bottle of Glendridge. |

Was worth queing for an hour and a half for this, a very tasty smooth whisky - an excellent dram - well done Aldi for selling this splendid whisky at an affordable price. This will be the only time I can afford a 40year old whisky. |

Aldi have a Glen Marnoch 12 for £17.99. Also signs of an out of stock 18 for £19.99 which apparently was a weekly deal earlier in November.
Did we all miss this one? Lots of news about Aldi whisky last Christmas, and I've heard nothing about plans for this year. Is the Glen Marnoch a Dalmore....? |

The answer is based on this snippet:
"Glen Marnoch 12 year old (£12.99 in Aldi) is actually a 12 yr old Dalmore (£35 - £40 per bottle). Aldi bought the whole vat cheap" {courtesy of SingleTrack}. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Have found this review suggesting Glen Marnoch 12, 18 and 24 yr holds on sale right now - have only seen the 12 and that was in 2 separate stores. |

i picked up a bottle of the 24y/o last Thursday for £29.99
I didnt count how many there were but id guess 15-20. Not been back to the store since so not sure if they sold out but there certainly wasnt any signs of a stampeed to get a bottle
I opened it that night and didnt think much of it. Pretty tame, not very complex with not much of a finish. Not bad for the price but for a fiver more i wish i'd just picked up another bottle of laga 16 from waitrose.
...but never can have too many different bottles in the cabinet |

There was no Glen Marnock 24 year old left in my local Aldi.
I have had the Glen Marnock 18 before and it was very drinkable considering i paid £20 for it. |

The 18 is good, a full bodied highland dram, Oakey, vanilla, citrus. Excellent for £20! |
