Is this a new bottling Question
As Andy says it is a travel retail bottling and a very good bottling. I added a piece to the site last year when it was released. It was limited to 18000 bottles, not sure how many will still be available now.

Alex I wouldnt say i am a huge fan of Oban but i do think it is a decent whisky. I just thought your experience of it didnt add up, as i said it is a decent whisky, that i why diageo choose it as one of its classic malts, having said that i would rate a few of the classic malts above it.

Yes, on first impressions I would put it behind Talisker, Lagavulin, Dalwhinnie and Cragganmore in that order. (haven't tried Glenkinchie) I do intend to try it again as I said - it's just a pity it never seems to be available on offer anywhere. It doesn't strike me as particularly good value for money, especially considering what great whiskies you can get for a bit less.

Alex i think Oban is quite a small distillery with a small output so i dont think Diageo push it as much as the other classic malts as they may not be able to meet the demand for it if they did. Just my thoughts on it. Personally i would choose the other classic malts before it with exception to the Glenkinchie which is a pleasant enough whisky but i would cetainly take the Oban before it.

I havent bought a bottle of Bowmore 12 for ages, i have been drinking the Bowmore Legend more. Probably because you dont see the Bowmore 12 in the supermarkets now it always seems to be the Bowmore Legend on the supermarket shelves now.
