Just returned from the pub, where I was surprised to find they had Oban 14. Tried it for the first time with pretty high expectations given what I've heard, but was relatively disappointed. I found it a bit... lacking in something, not quite sure what! |

Or there is always a chance a pub may have watered it down or diluted it with a cheaper whisky.

Hmm it was about half-full. You could be right, I would like to try it again before jumping to any conclusions. Having said that, other whiskies of reputation that I first tried in pubs or bars (Highland Park 12 most recently) have never disappointed. Are you a fan of Oban? |

Alex I wouldnt say i am a huge fan of Oban but i do think it is a decent whisky. I just thought your experience of it didnt add up, as i said it is a decent whisky, that i why diageo choose it as one of its classic malts, having said that i would rate a few of the classic malts above it. |
