My maiden post here on this forum. Figured the veterans might be able to throw some light on this.

Was given a pack of 6 Miniatures from Whyte & Mackay. These are all currently sealed and unopened, but are probably 20 years old atleast.

Wondering if it's a safe bet to open and consume. From visual inspection, they still retain a Whisky colour & one bottle seems slightly lower in level compared to the other 5.

My apologies in advance for the above being a very basic query.

Miniatures can sometimes evaporate very quickly, they should be perfectly fine to drink though, obviously if it tastes off at all pour it down the drain. They will continue to evaporate so I would say open and enjoy while you can.

They will be fine to drink and the thing with miniatures with screw caps, just like full size bottles is that you need to periodically nip them up or at least check them as , changes in room temperature , air & time affect bottle closures.
Miniatures seem to suffer with adhesion of the internal seal in the cap to the top of the bottle glass, if they are tight from the start the alcohol fumes help to stick the cap to the top of the glass if the are screwed on tight. If you have a low fill level the caps probably have an 1/8 -1/4 of turn for full tightness, which is why evaporation occurs.
