Hello all,
I recently recieved a a bottle of scotch whisky and I was wondering whether i should hold on to it or drink it. It looks interesting. The brand is Haig and Haig Old Blended Scotch Whiskey aged 12 years. It is a three sided half gallon bottle and the tax stamp is from april 1st, 1989. What makes this bottle interesting is that it came mounted on a wooden spit. The wood is painted and polished and has the Haig crest and the word "pinch" on both sides. The bottle is still sealed. it is mounted so that the pointed end sticks out and you can grab that side to pour it. I tried looking around online but couldnt find anything. Has anyone ever heard of this?
I havent come across one like this, not really sure how much value the
wooden spit will add. Haig named the whisky Pinch in the US and Dimple in Europe, so looks like yours was bottled for the US market. If you do seperate searches for Pinch, Dimple and Haig on The Whisky Exchange you may get an idea of the value of your whisky by itself, as i say it is difficult to say how much value thewooden spit would add.
