|
|
Hi
I wonder if someone could give me a few recommendations for a bottle of whisky i could buy my husband as a Christmas gift.
I am looking to spend around £100, i would assume i should be able to get a good quality whisky for that amount.
I know he enjoys drinking whisky from all the different whisky regions of Scotland, so if you could recommend a Scotch whisky which is highly rated by whiskies drinkers i would be grateful.

Hi Karen
I would recommend Highland Park whisky as a gift. I am sure any whisky drinker would love to receive a bottle as a gift.
The Highland Park Whiskies i would recommend are:
Highland Park 18 Year Old. Costs around £50
Highland Park 25 Year Old. This whisky is simply superb and costs around £110 but in my opinion worth every penny.
Highland Park 30 Year Old. Costs around £180 but is the best of the best.

Hi Karen
A few highly thought of whiskies which i would personally recommend are:
Ardbeg Airgh Bam Beist - Around £45
Lagavulin Distillers Edition - Around £55
Lagavulin 25 Year Old Limit Release - Priced at £170 a bit more than what you want to spend but i wish someone would tell my wife to buy it for me.
Talisker 25 year old - Around £105
all of which are available from The Whisky Exchange
Hope this gives you some ideas

Hi Karen
If your husband likes Islay whisky you will find an excellent box set of Islay whisky at The Whisky Exchange it contains 5X20cl bottles priced at £85. It is presented in a nice box and i think makes a nice whisky gift.
The Islay Collection set contains Caol ila 12yo + 18yo, Lagavulin 12yo + 16yo, Port Ellen 5th Release all of which are cask strength.

Karen
If you think he may like a sherried malt you cannot go wrong with either:
Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak
Macallan 25 Year Old Sherry Oak
Macallan 30 Year Old Sherry Oak
Or you may want to look at the excellent Glenfarclas 30 year old i had this myself last year and it is like a rich christmas fruit cake in a glass and it is within your price range.

Thanks so much for your replys and your recommendations. :D
I recognise the whisky names you have mentioned and have taken a note of them. I will go into the Whisky Shop in Glasgow when i am shopping on Saturday. I would assume they will stock the whiskies which have been suggested.
Many thanks your help is very much appreciated.

Hi Karen
You are very welcome.
Hope you find what you want at the Whisky Shop, if you dont The Whisky Exchange should have all the whiskies mentioned and there delivery service has always been very good in my experience.
