Most, if not all whisky award/competitions take money for each whisky entered and then usually award the whisky a gold ...

Hi, i think your big bottle of 12 year is from around 1979-1981.

The miniatures the 70 proof around 1979-1980, the 40% bottle is a 1980's.

This is a tasty Springbank but , it lacks a bit of oomph at 48.2% and with a splash of water it is dulled to much so my advice is to keep it neat.

Finally got this bottle delivered today and looking forward to seeing how it changes as the bottle goes down.

If you cannot get it out, I would not worry about it. I have had this happen to me a few times,never any detriment that l noticed.

Very nice indeed. I remember being on a rooftop restaurant in Tokyo in 1981 in August and sipping a variety of Suntory whiskies. Brings back memories of tasting the good stuff.
