Bells
blended whisky was first produced in
1825 by Arthur Bell & Sons of Perth.
Today Bell's Extra Special Blended
Scotch Whisky is the most popular
blended whisky in the UK. In fact it has
been said that Bells is several fine
whiskies blended together to please the
palates of a greater number of people
than one whisky unmixed.
The Bells blend comprises of more than
35% malt, including quality malts such
as Linkwood and Caol Ila. It is made with up to 40 of the
finest malt and grain whiskies which are
matured in oak casks before being
skilfully blended to give Bells its
unmistakable rich nose, warm taste and
lingering finish.
The now famous
Bells decanters are collectable. They
were first produced in the 1930s and
since 1988 a decanter has been produced
each Christmas. The most collectable is
the Charles and Diana decanter
commemorating their marriage in 1981,
which are now valued at up to £400.
