WDF’s World
of Whiskies launches new website.
WDF’s specialist ‘World
of Whiskies’ brand this week announced
the launch of a new dedicated website
www.worldofwhiskies.com
For the first time, customers will be
able to experience the unique offering
of World of Whiskies outside the airport
retail environment. The site features a
comprehensive guide to the amazing
collection of over 350 whisky brands
stocked in the specialist store,
alongside fascinating articles and
expert reviews. Customers will benefit
from being able to spend more time
exploring the huge variety of whisky
labels available, before they even get
to the airport.

The Largest Whisky Retailer

WDF is the largest retailer of single
malts and its overall sales of whisky
account for 25% of all UK sales. There
are seven World of Whiskies stores in
airports across the UK, stocking the
most extensive collection of whiskies
available from around the globe. The
range includes everything from rare,
vintage and premium bottles – some of
which are created and bottled by the
distilleries exclusively for WDF - to
more niche labels, single malts, grains,
pure malts, blends and bourbons,
bringing whisky novices and fanatics
alike, the most diverse range of the
much sought-after spirit.
In store, customers can enjoy a relaxed
and informative environment to browse,
taste and be educated by the store’s
specially trained whisky experts helping
them discover new whisky flavours and
experiences. The knowledgeable and
passionate World of Whiskies staff are
trained in WDF’s own specialised Whisky
School and are also given extensive
training by each whisky supplier.

Customers are invited to register as
members of the World of Whiskies
website, giving them access to a variety
of exclusive benefits.
Members are able
to pre-order their chosen whisky online
and the purchase will then be ready and
waiting for them in the World of
Whiskies store once they pass through
security.
Many of the whiskies ordered
on line are also offered with an
exclusive free gift such as a choice of
luxury whisky miniatures. Other member
benefits include quarterly newsletters
featuring news, reviews and articles
from WDF’s whisky expert; Charles
Maclean, advance details of the latest
product launches, in store events and
tastings, exclusive competitions,
special offers and free gifts. The site
also has an interactive facility
enabling members to rate and review any
of the whiskies on the website and
compare comments and tasting notes with
fellow whisky connoisseurs.

 To celebrate the launch of the site, an

be run from the day of the website
launch through to December 2009.
