Knappogue Castle 36 Year Old 1951 70cl / 40% ABV / Distillery Bottling Category: Potstill Compare Prices: Knappogue Castle
Description: In the 1960s, Mark Edwin Andrews bought the remaining casks of pure pot still whiskey distilled in 1951 at the prestigious B. Daly Distillery in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. The casks were periodically tested until it was felt that they had reached the peak of maturity. In 1987, the casks were bottled. Andrews named his whiskey after the castle he owned in the west of Ireland. Knappogue Castle 1951, aged for 36 years in sherry casks, is the oldest and rarest Irish whiskey in the world.
