Brora 1976 30 Year Old 70cl / 57.5% ABV / Independent Bottling Category: Douglas Laing Compare Prices: Brora
Description: This bottle of Brora 1976 is a Highland single malt whisky from independent bottler Douglas Laings Old & Rare Platinum Selection. It was distilled in 1976, matured for 30 years and bottled in April 2007. A limited edition of only 109 bottles. This is another to add to the list of excellent Platinum Selection malts.
Tasting Notes: Distinctly coastal, maritime and oceanic on the nose, full of summer holidays by the sea, (even walking by the harbour with a vanilla ice cream cone). The mid weighted body carries a palate that explodes with iodine, peat and a dessicating saltiness - with a lingering phenolic character and an allusion to vanilla'd sweetness. The late palate continues to run into the finish, both being extremely carbonic with coal dust, damp fires and all manner of phenolic qualities.
