Description: Benromach Traditional Speyside single malt was launched in March 2004, this was the first whisky distilled after the re-opening of the Benromach distillery in 1998 and is the first whisky distilled by the new owners Gordon & MacPhail. It is produced using the finest peated barley and matured in hand picked oak casks. It is a young whisky, but has a delicious dollop of peat and plenty of fresh, ripe flavours. A very welcome return.
Tasting Notes: Straw yellow in colour. On the nose there is citrus fruits (lemons and limes) with a hint of honey and pine resin. Peaty malty notes in the background. The body is rounded with a balance of flavours. On the palate it is smoky with cereal and malt flavours. Dries up with spicy peppery notes followed by a delicate floral edge. The finish is slightly sweet with a hint of smoke and malt.
