Auchentoshan 32 Year Old Distilled 1973 55.5% ABV / Distillery Bottling Category: Lowland Compare Prices: Auchentoshan
Description: It was back in March 1973 that this Auchentoshan spirit was laid to rest in two fine Sherry casks. Now, after thirty-two years resting in the distillery warehouse, the golden malt whisky has finally been bottled. During its long maturation much of the original spirit was lost to the angels, through natural evaporation. Only 480 bottles of this rare whisky are the result, bottled straight from the cask at its natural strength.
Tasting Notes: Incredibly rich and complex example of Auchentoshan: deep dark mahogany in colour, with zesty aromas of lemon, tangerine and spiced gingerbread sweetness on the nose. The flavour is fabulous, initially it has sweet raisins on the palate and is deliciously nutty and creamy. The finish is wonderfully long and smooth.
Method of Production: This 32 year old single vintage bottling was made from the vatting of two Sherry casks, that owing to years of evaporation, led to only 480 bottles of cask strength malt being produced.
